A group of free climbers shared the spine-tingling moment they scaled all 927ft of Donald Trump’s 40 Wall Street building – one of New York’s tallest skyscrapers.

The trio including YouTuber DyingLlama ascending the Manhattan location were astonished by how easily they were able to get onto the roof of the tower, before attempting an enormously precarious climb to the top of the spire.

Also known as The Trump Building, but not to be confused with Trump Tower, 40 Wall Street is a totemic office space with current occupants including the Girl Scouts of Greater New York, Noble Capital and Telstra.

After the daredevils had passed the 72 floors, they were astonished to just be able to climb out a hatch at the top of a spiral staircase onto the iconic green roof – made of lead-coated copper.

‘It’s actually crazy that that hatch is open,’ one said before leaving into the open air, ‘careful coming out here it’s a bit sketchy.’

The three – who wore masks to conceal their identities – stepped out onto a section of roof that was barely one-foot wide halfway up the spire of the building.

From their they had an uninterrupted view of the New York skyline, with one saying: ‘Oh my God, holy s***,’ before their stunt appeared to be interrupted by a helicopter overhead.

However, after they appeared to have avoided detection, the one filming – for the footage uploaded on August 20 – decided to go even further.

‘I guess time to go up,’ he said before ascending a ladder to the very tip of the skyscraper after his companion encouraged him to ‘be safe’.

‘This is so much smaller up here than I thought,’ the climber added.

Many commenters said they could not watch as he reached the very top, with just the antennae to cling onto having passed the end of the ladder.

‘Alright, let’s get down,’ he announced before filming the anxiety-inducing descent.

As they got back inside the cameraman asks: ‘Why the f*** are there no cameras here?’

If that was not brazen enough, another of the group then says, ‘let’s just go down through the security gate,’ before the film cuts to them walking through the building’s lobby.

The building was built in 1930, with a company owned by Trump buying the lease to it in 1995.

Its website boasts about its ‘world class management,’ who have been contacted for comment.

The video of the climb has amassed over 65,000 views, with DyingLlama sharing it to their more-than half-a-million subscribers.

‘They give me extreme anxiety and adrenaline almost like I’m in danger and about to watch a buddy or myself fall. F***ing insane but EPIC,’ one said.

Another added: ‘I watch these videos every now and then just to remind myself how much I love being on the ground.’

Someone else admitted that the footage had given them ‘the chills’.

And another said: ‘I’m not an anxious person but this tops everything I’ve seen in this sphere of content – I was s****ing myself seeing how tight that was.’

This was not the first time 40 Wall Street has been scaled with several urban explorers having made the climb before.
